Newport Mom Seriously Injured in Car Crash, Baby Unhurt
Carmel -
Traffic is backed up for miles along the interstate near Carmel, after a crash just before 6:30 Tuesday morning.
Police say a mini van struck the guard rail twice, then came to rest in some trees.
We're told the female driver was ejected from the car. She was taken by life flight helicopter to a hospital.
A child sitting in an infant seat in the back appears to be uninjured. They reportedly remained in the safety seat throughout the crash. They were taken to the hospital as a precaution.

Authorities are investigating the incident.
