Bangor - Bangor Police are classifying the beating death of a man early Sunday morning a homicide.

Police say Ralph Greenleaf, 47, was found lying unconscious in the street under the Joshua Chamberlain Bridge on Union Street.

Greenleaf was taken to Eastern Maine Medical Center where he died Wednesday night.

Police believe there were several witnesses to the incident.
