Bangor -
An Eddington man was sentenced to 11 months behind bars Thursday.
Thirty-nine-year-old Walter Ramsdell the third pleaded no contest to possession of sexually explicit material.
Police say Ramsdell ran a home daycare and downloaded child pornography on his computer.
Investigators with the state's computer crimes unit say they uncovered Ramsdell's computer activities while monitoring a network where child pornography is shared.
The sentence was a plea deal reached between the state and Ramsdell's attorney
" We felt that this sentence for 11 months was appropriate given the defendant's background, given his history, given the acts that he engaged in. We felt it was appropriate and hope that the Department of Human Services will be able to supervise his family from now on.
" Mr. Ramsdell is not a threat to society. This is an episodic incident, probably never to be repeated. The impact on his family has been huge."
Ramsdell will be placed on the national sex offender registry for 10 years.
He was taken into custody following his sentencing.
