Brewer - The Brewer Christian Food Cupboard has a new home.

The cupboard is now housed at 71 Center Street in Brewer.

For 25 years, the organization was split between two churches. Food was held in one and distributed in another.

Now, with a growing need for services, it needed to all be contained under one roof.

" When they opened in the early 80's they fed one family a month just about, now we're feeding about 125 families a month," said Jim Roche, Manager of the food cupboard.

A grand opening for the cupboard will be held September 25th from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m..

The cupboard's normal hours are Wednesday's and Friday's from 10 o'clock in the morning until noon.
