Non league opponent Providence College in to face the Black Bears in field hockey. They're led by former Black Bear coach Diane Madl.
First half and UMaine gets on the board off a penalty corner. The set by Maire Dineen and Stephanie Gardiner hammers it home.
Jocelyn Mitchell also scored twice in the second half for Maine.
The Black Bears also had a shutout performance from netminder Brittany Fleck.
They start the season with a 3-0 win over the Friars.
