Lincolnville -
Two people were taken to the hospital after an accident in Lincolnville Friday.
Deputy David Mushrall with the Waldo County Sheriff's Deparment says 25-year-old Jake Esancy of Union was driving a dump truck on Belfast Road when a mechanical failure caused the truck to lose power to the brakes and drive system.
Deputy Mushrall says as the truck approached the intersection of Belfast Road, Main Street and Heal Road, Esancy was unable to stop and struck a pick-up driven by 48-year-old Fred Moody of Lincolnville.
Esancy was taken to Penobscot Bay Medical Center in Rockport.
Moody was taken to Waldo County General Hospital in Belfast and later transferred to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor.
The crash is still under investigation.
