Augusta - Maine has received 19 applications from
nonprofit groups hoping to operate a medical mairjuana dispensary
in either York County or Down East.
Maine's new medical marijuana law allows one dispensary in each
of the state's eight public health districts. Last month, three
companies were chosen to operate six of them.

Among the applicants are Lucas Sirois, a Farmington contractor who does business as Today's Herbal Care, and Freese Fuller of Hallowell.
Sirois submitted two applications - one for a dispensary in
Sullivan and another in Biddeford. He previously applied to open
dispensaries in western Maine, central Maine and York County.
Fuller, whose group is called The Healing Center, proposes to
open a clinic in Ellsworth.
