According to energy analysts, projections are predicting that oil prices will only modestly rise during the winter. If this pans out, this will be the second year in a row without sky high prices.

The U.S. Energy Information Administration is foreseeing that the price of heating oil will climb gradually to $3.10 per gallon by the middle of winter. Prices are not expected to get even close to the $5 per gallon experienced over two years ago.

In Maine, where 75 percent of the homes are heated with oil, some homeowners and oil dealers are divided on whether prices will go up or down this coming winter.
