There was a little something for everyone at the Curran Homestead in Orrington Sunday.
As a follow up to its 2-day fundraiser, the Curran Homestead opened its doors to all who wanted to stop by.
Bluegrass music and blacksmithing demonstrations took place. There was even a wooden washing machine on hand from 1915.
Organizers say a steady stream of folks stopped by.
The goal of the homestead is to preserve the concept of the family farm.
"We preserve artifacts from area family farms that are being subdivided and transitioned out as family farms. We hope to use a lot of the artifacts we get for our living history museum," said Robert Schmick, museum director.
Schmick says they hope to have many more hands on events in the future.
