A new law helping to protect seniors and those with developmental disabilities is now in effect.

Modeled after Amber Alert, it speeds up searches and adopts a uniform statewide public notification policy using radio and TV when a senior citizen goes missing.

Last year, there were three high profile cases where Mainers with disabilities went missing. The wife of one of those people who died calls this law a blessing.
