Bourbon and Brown Sugar BBQ Sauce

1 cup fine diced onion
8 cups of your favorite hickory smoked BBQ sauce
2 tablespoons liquid smoke
1 cup dark brown sugar
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
2 cups Bourbon
oil to saute onions

Saute onions in oil until translucent. Add brown sugar and heat slightly, do not burn. Add remaining ingredients and simmer on low for 5 minutes.
