A deal between the Passamaquoddy Tribe and a company in Oklahoma to build a liquefied natural gas terminal in Eastern Maine is over.
The Bureau of Indian Affairs put an end to the land-lease agreement for the plan.
The tribe voted last June to end its contract with Quoddy Bay L.N.G. to build a facility at Pleasant Point, but that company objected.
Quoddy Bay contended the project was still viable, but the company's president previously said they ran out of money.
Quoddy Bay withdrew its applications for state and federal permits last year.
