Tonight's game against UMass-Lowell was make or break for the Maine Black Bears. A win and they survive for another day, a loss and the season comes to a disappointing end.
In a game you could see on the CW, Tim Whitehead trying to snap a four game losing streak at home. On the other hand, Lowell trying to end the Black Bears season.
But not so fast, just 23 seconds into the game Spencer Abbott scores off the rebound and in the blink of an eye, Maine is up 1-0.
It stayed that way into the second period. Tanner House, from Robby Dee and Gustav Nyquist and the Black Bears are up 2-0.
Dave Wilson in goal was good last night. He was great tonight. With less than two minutes to go in the second, he stops the Riverhawks on a breakaway. One of 23 saves on the night. Wilson gets the playoff shutout. Maine lives to play another day. They defeat UMass-Lowell 2-0.
