Not guilty on all counts. That's what a Rockland jury has delivered for the verdict in the case of a shooting involving lobstermen on Matinicus Island.
68 year old Vance Bunker was charge with elevated aggravated assault, and other charges for shooting 44 year old Christopher Young last July. Bunkers daughter, Janan Miller was also on trial for her roll in the incident. Jurors deliberated for more than 10 hours over two days, and the verdict came down late. They asked to listen to recordings again of both Young and Bunker's conversations with police.
On Thursday, Bunker testified that he shot Young because he felt his and his daughter's lives were at risk during a struggle over his daughter's shotgun. Again not guilty on 5 counts against Vance Bunker and Janan Miller.
The prosecutor in the case says the outcome is a disappointment. District attorney Geoffrey Rushlau adds that the jurors worked very hard on this case and he respects what they did.
