A father and son from Dedham are in trouble for concocting a story that a State Trooper stole money from the son, following his arrest.
A Hancock County jury found Steven and Tyler Harmon guilty last week of making a false public report.
Twenty-year-old Tyler Harmon had been arrested on an outstanding theft warrant and was taken to the county jail.
Investigators say the father talked to his son over a recorded telephone line from the jail and told him to accuse the state trooper of stealing nearly 4-hundred dollars.
Both were sentenced to thirty days in jail and fined 750 dollars.
