A Frankfort man is accused of stealing money from an elderly woman even though, police say, he didn't know he had the money.
Old Town police say 21-year-old Cody Brassbridge stole a wallet belonging to an 80-year-old woman at an Old Town fast food restaurant last month. The woman had just cashed her social security check and all her money for the month was in the wallet.
Police say Brassbridge threw the wallet out his car window. Police found it on the median of I-95 Friday and found the money hidden in a rear zippered compartment where Brassbridge apparently hadn't bothered to look.
The woman got her money back. Brassbridge, who police say was caught by the restaurant's surveillance camera, is due in court next month.
