Entering this weekend, the Maine Men's Hockey team needed just one point, a tie or better in either game against UMass and they would have home ice for the quarterfinals of the Hockey East playoffs. Last night, the Black Bears were thumped at home 5-2 by the Minutemen. How would they do tonight?
In a game you could see right here on TV5. Shawn Sirman started in net for the Black Bears after giving up four goals last night. He got pulled for Dave Wilson after giving up two goals.
That set the stage for Jeff Dimmen. Late in the first, he scores one of the prettiest goals of the year to make it 2-1.
However, UMass had a great weekend. Justin Braun may have been the best player on the ice this weekend. He scores to make it 3-1. Maine would go on to lose at home once again this time 4-3 to UMass.
