It's the last weekend of the regular season for Maine Men's hockey. All they need is one point from their two games against UMass this weekend and the Black Bears clinch home ice in the quarterfinal round of the Hockey East tournament.
The Black Bears started Shawn Sirman in net. Scott Darling did not dress after violating team rules, and they could have used him.
It was 1-0 UMass after one, then the floodgates opened up. Matt Irwin for the Minutemen scores to make it 2-0. He would get another goal later on in the second.
Then four minutes later, Justin Braun scores for the Minutemen. It was 4-0 before Sirman got pulled for Dave Wilson.
Maine would get two goals. Here Will O'Neill makes it 4-2, but thats as close as it got. It'll come down to the final day of the regular season. UMass wins 5-2 over the Black Bears.
