15-year old James is need of a forever family!
James is a handsome young man who has a good sense of humor. He loves to play video games and his Game Boy. James is definitely more of an indoor kid. However, James did mention some of his favorite outdoors activities. He said he likes to fish. When he is outside, James likes to "hang out"…passing a ball around or sitting in the yard. James has taken therapeutic horseback riding lessons, which he really enjoyed. James likes animals. In addition to his affection for horses, he has also done well with the dogs and cats that he has lived with throughout the years.
James struggles a bit in school. He receives special education services, mostly to help him remain on task and appropriate during school hours. James' adoptive parents will need to be actively involved in his school programming as well as in assisting James with school work in the evenings.
James has a team working with him that is committed to identifying a forever home where he can maintain contact with his sister. The professionals who work with James would like to keep the possibility of James and his sister living together open if possible. They have been through a lot together and keeping them in frequent contact is very important.
James will do best in a family that is very patient and has time to do activities that will help them to bond as a family. It will be important that his family meet him where he is developmentally and help him reach him reach his best potential. The family must realize that James will test their commitment. Participating in therapy that is focused on building their relationships will be crucial. It will also be important that James's family be willing to help him learn to live independently as he enters adulthood.

=========
"How's school going?"
Bad.
No.
No, good (laughs)
Alright, what's good about school?
Lunch."
James say pepperoni pizza is his favorite on the menu, but he pretty much eats anything. James also isn't picky when it comes to movies.
"Yeah, I watch a lot of movies."
He also reads a lot, but sticks to just one subject.
"Harry Potter.
That's it.
Yeah.
Nothing else."
James tells me he's an indoor type of guy. And, when i asked this teenager what his favorite inside hobby is, James didn't even hesitate before answering.
"Video games.
It's all about the video games.
Yeah."
I FOUND OUT JAMES LIKES ALL KINDS, INCLUDING AIR HOCKEY.
"Are you good at it?
Yeah.
How good are you?
I can win."
"Nat sound- puck going in the hole"
And he was right. When it comes to the right family, James says he'd like one that enjoys spending time together.
"Do they have to know how to play video games?
Yeah.
And if they don't, you'll teach them.
Yeah."
