A woman from Mars Hill has admitted to producing child pornography and posting it on the internet.
31-year old Julie Carr entered a guilty plea to the federal charge in U.S. District Court in Bangor.
Carr also faces state charges of child sexual abuse.
She's pleaded not guilty to that crime.
The case came to the attention of police when investigators in the United Kingdom found a live web cast of a woman committing sexual acts on a young child.
The broadcast was traced to Mars Hill. Carr was arrested in June.
She faces up to 30 years in prison.
A court clerk says the sentencing date for the federal charge could be a couple of months away.
No trial for the state charge has been set.
