A juvenile from Ellsworth reportedly pointed a gun at officers when they came to his house during a underage drinking party.
Police received an anonymous tip that there was an underage drinking party on Mariaville Road in Ellsworth at about 11:00 pm Saturday night.
According to Officer Chad Wilmot, upon approaching the house officers could see through a window that one of the male juveniles had picked up a bolt-action .22 rifle.
Police say the juvenile, a 16-year-old resident of the house whose parents were not at home at the time of the party, pointed his gun at police.
When officers ordered the juvenile to drop the firearm, he hesitated, but did after a few seconds.
He was arrested and taken to the Mountain View Youth Development Center in Charleston. He's been charged with threatening with a deadly weapon.
Officials say the juvenile resident was intoxicated at the time of arrest.
Eight people between the ages of 14 and 20 were reportedly at the house.
One was 20-year-old Jeffrey Jordan from Surry who had an active warrant, and it was against his bail conditions to possess liquor. He was taken to Hancock County Jail.
