Maine Woman Sends Pillows to Troops

1

She is trying to make war a little more comfortable for soldiers. She's no doctor, but with every stitch she makes, she hopes it gives wounded soldiers a sense of home and the strength to heal. Her name is Alice Fogg, she's a self taught sewer from Naples, who's making pillows.

Nearly all the fabric and filling have been donated since Fogg started her pillow project about a year ago. She's made about 1600, sending them to hospitals in Afghanistan where many soldiers go after they are wounded.

Fogg says it takes about ten minutes to make each pillow, time she says she's glad to devote to support troops.

If you would like to donate fabric or polyester fiber to her cause Alice Fogg can be contacted at

402 Edes Fall Road
Naples, Maine 04055

Thanks to Alice and her daughter, Elle, there a MANY servicemen who get pillows to help comfort them from someone back in Maine who really cares. It is an honor to have Alice as my sister-in-law. Love to their whole family.

This is my Aunt Alice who I have not seen in years. I live in Maryland. This brings tears to my eyes of how generous she is. I just read where she just received an award because she has now made and sent out more than 4,000 pillows.
