"Where do you want to be five years from now?", asked my pastor on a recent Sunday. Would you like to be wiser financially, a better loved one to your family, a wiser person? It doesn't matter how old you are because there is never a reason to not be bettering yourself in every way that you have the power to improve.
My passion is that YOU TAKE RESPONSIBILITY for YOUR FINANCES.
For the Tuesday near Valentine's Day I usually- as I will today- show you the bumper sticker from Wife.org (www.wife.org) 'A Man's NOT a Financial Plan.'
Nobody is your plan. From well known people like Paula Zahn and Patricia Cornwell to lesser known people like your sister or you neighbor, people HIDE from their financial responsibilities because 'it's too hard,' or they 'don't like it' every day.
And I am challenging you to buck up, pull up the panties and get some kind of a plan to be better off five years from now than you are today.
Will all the problems be gone? Maybe not, but you can make great progress if you will just take responsibility for:
How much you SPEND
How much you OWE- have a less than three-year plan to pay it off
How much you are SAVING
And how much you GIVE.
A Man's not a plan. Neither is your mommy or daddy, your rich uncle, your kids or you partner. YOU are the person who will help yourself. So DO IT. Please.
