Bangor Ballet presents Enchanted

“Enchanted” presents the best of Swan Lake and and the best of Sleeping Beauty. The production, set to Tchaikovsky’s powerful and familiar melodies, is gorgeously costumed and brings to the stage all the elements of fairytale magic – lovely princesses, an evil sorcerer, flower fairies, precious jewels, famous storybook characters – and of course, a prince! This is a unique opportunity for fairytale fans of all ages to experience two beloved ballets in one Enchanted performance.

In Act 1, the Swan Queen Odette and her swan maidens glide along the shore of a moonlit lake where they encounter Prince Siegfried. Odette tells him of the evil spell that imprisons her. The prince longs to save the lovely Swan Queen – but will the powers of evil be stronger than their love?

As Act II opens, the fair Princess Aurora has been asleep for a hundred years. The stage is flooded with sunshine as handsome Prince Désiré kisses awake his Sleeping Beauty. We join them for their joyous wedding celebration, where the guests include Little Red Riding, the Wolf, the White Cat, Puss in Boots, and sparkling fairies!
