TOLEDO, OHIO (WABI) - UMaine women's basketball stormed out of the gates last night scoring 28 points in the first quarter, but not enough, as they fell 65-64 in overtime at Toledo.
Julie Brosseau had a career-high 26 points, 14 in the first quarter, but despite not trailing in regulation couldn't get the road win.
Blanca Millan ended up with 16 points. Tanesha Sutton had 12.
The Rockets got the game tying basket with less than 4 seconds to play in the game. They didn't get their first lead until overtime and clung to the one point margin in the final seconds.
A real tough loss for Maine who missed half court heaves to win at the end of regulation and overtime. They play 8th ranked Ohio State next. That's Sunday at 1 o'clock in Columbus, Ohio.
