Coach Joe Harasymiak Talks About Maine's Winning Feeling

ORONO, Maine (WABI) Maine Football got their first win of the 2017 season in style on Saturday.

A 60-12 drubbing of Bryant got the Black Bears even at 1-1 this year.

They now head in to the bye week before taking on reigning National Champion James Madison.

We caught up with Coach Joe Harasymiak this afternoon.

"43-5, I have never been in a lot of those situations to be honest and I've never been in one as a head coach. The halftime is a little weird trying to figure out what you want to do and when you are getting the backups in. And you want to win in a classy way and do it respectfully. I thought our kids handled it well. I thought the back up guys that got in did really well and it's good to get those guys in and get them some reps because it could pay dividends in case we get injured. It's a nice way to had into the bye week. It really is, getting a win under our belt coming off that tough loss to begin the season. We are 1-1 and this 2017 team got their first win. I talked to them today about that winning feeling and not losing that. We need to stay focused as we head into the bye week. We are going to do some thing differently in terms of giving them a rest by mentally we have to stay sharp. They probably will still be the number one team in the country that we have to play in two week, so it's going to take a great effort from us."
