WINTHROP, Maine (WABI) - A Winthrop teen charged with killing his parents and their family dog last year has been formally charged with murder. That's according to the Kennebec Journal.

In November a judge ruled 19-year-old Andrew Balcer will be tried as an adult.

He was seventeen when police say he confessed to stabbing his parents, Antonio and Alice Balcer.

During that hearing, 9-1-1 tapes were played where Balcer was heard telling police he stabbed his parents to death as well as the family's dog.
