Wells, Maine (WMTW) Those who are without power because of Irma will soon be getting a little light from Maine.

Village Candle in Wells is sending 10,000 storm candles to relief efforts.

The candles have a 10 hour burn time and are re-purposed from waxes used in other candles.

The company says it's important to help during times like this.

"It's nice to be able to go to the cupboard and pull out a candle that you know has been poured in metal, very safe to burn, and will give you about 30 to 40 hours of light." Says CEO of Village Candle, Paul Aldrich.

The candles were poured yesterday, and will continue today.

The candles will then be shipped to Florida, Texas and the Caribbean.
