DETROIT, Maine (WABI) - The State Fire Marshal’s Office has released the names of the three men injured yesterday in the explosion in Detroit.
62-year old Anthony Towers of Newport was taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland for extensive burns.
50-yard old Lee Gustin of Cambridge and 36-year old Clarence Rider of Pittsfield were transported to Sebasticook Valley Hospital for respiratory issues.
The Fire Marshal’s Office say Towers and Rider were both working on top of an empty silo used to store sulfur.
A shovel being used to clean dust caused a spark that set off the explosion.
Several crews and Hazmat units responded to the scene to put out the fire.
