ORONO, Maine (WABI) - After two years of work, construction is finished at the UpStart Center for Entrepreneurship in Orono.
The over 800-thousand dollar lab renovation project was funded by the EDA and Maine Technology Institute.
Thursday, they held an open house where folks got to view the new renovations.
They include two modern wet labs that will enable the center to give strong support to late-stage incubating companies.
"We see this as a space where it's just critical to have this kind of setting for companies to come together and be able to incubate and move to their next levels. So, we are delighted to be a partner and very grateful to all who have helped bring this to fruition." said Joan Ferrini-Mundy.
The labs are already being occupied by two promising companies.
