BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - The trial of the second of two men charged in a deadly shooting in Bangor began Wednesday.

Robert Hansley of Brooklyn, New York is being charged with the murder of 38-year-old Robert Kennedy on November 27th, 2015.

Police also think he shot and wounded a second man, Barry Jenkins, in a Center Street Apartment.

A judge has already convicted another Brooklyn man, Thomas Ferguson, of elevated aggravated assault for being an accomplice.

Opening statements began this morning with the defense telling jurors that Hansley was not the shooter, that Ferguson pulled the trigger.

After the statements, jurors were brought to the crime scene on Center Street to get a better view of the apartment.

The first testimony to be heard in the trial was that of Barry Jenkins’ then girlfriend Tara Choquette.

She described going outside to smoke a cigarette when Hansley and Fergson walked by her and went into the apartment.

Shortly afterward, she heard gunshots and saw that both Kennedy and Jenkins had been shot.

The trial continues Thursday.
