MOUNT DESERT ISLAND, Maine (WABI) - A man and two teenage girls are being treated for hypothermia, after their snowmobile went into the water on Mount Desert Island Wednesday night.

According to the Warden Service, Eli Strauss of MDI was pulling his 12-year-old daughter and her friend, also 12, on a tube on Long Pond.

Strauss' wife called authorities when the three did not return.

Authorities found Eli Strauss walking through the woods.

They determined all three had swam to shore. The two girls stayed behind while Strauss went for help.

When authorities found Strauss, he could no longer walk due to hypothermic symptoms.

All three were taken to Mount Desert Island hospital in Bar Harbor.
