WASHINGTON (WABI) - The President unveiled a plan to rebuild the country's roads and bridges in a meeting with Governor Paul LePage Monday.
President Trump's budget plan calls for leveraging 1.5 trillion dollars for infrastructure out of 200 billion in federal funding.
He told dozens of local and state leaders - including Governor LePage - they'll need to compete for that cash.
Those that can prove their projects are ready to go, and have state, local, and private funding already in place will be the most likely to win help from the federal government.
Spokespeople for the Governor did not respond to our request for an interview.
