WADE, Maine (WABI) State police are investigating a nearly fatal crash in Aroostook County.
Authorities say a 16-year old from Washburn was traveling eastbound on the New Dunntown road at a high rate of speed when he lost control and struck a tree Saturday morning.
Police say the crash was so severe that the 1998 Buick regal nearly split in half and caught on fire.
It happened around 8:00 Saturday morning.
The teen was pulled from the car by a neighbor nearby.
Police say the man cut the teen out of his seatbelt and pulled him out a rear window before dragging him to safety.
