St. Albans Man to Prison for 27 Years for Killing Uncle

ST. ALBANS, Maine (WABI) - A man from St. Albans who shot his uncle to death is going to prison for 27 years.

26-year-old Jeremy Irving pleaded guilty Wednesday to murder.

He changed his plea from insanity, which he entered last spring.

Jury selection was scheduled to start in Erving's trial Thursday.

Police say Erving admitted to his girlfriend and her father that he killed his uncle in April of 2016.

It came after they bailed him out of jail following Erving's drunk driving arrest.

53-year-old Randy Erving's body was found at his home on McNally Road.

Authorities say he and his nephew were drinking heavily the previous day.
