Solon woman sent to jail for her role in van burning to collect insurance money

SOLON, Maine (WABI) - A woman from Solon accused of hiring a man to set her minivan on fire so she could collect insurance money has been sentenced to six months in jail.

The Morning Sentinel reports that 31-year-old Jennifer Sandoval pleaded guilty to arson conspiracy and insurance fraud.

Last summer, Sandoval paid 24-year-old Anthony Salisbury of Solon $300 to burn the van in Bingham.

That way she could collect more than $2,100 in insurance.

The two were arrested in December.

Salisbury has pleaded not guilty.

He's due in court, again, at the end of the month.
