BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - A chance to tour the solar system Thursday and you didn't even have to leave Bangor.
The Challenger Learning Center hosted a Solar System Walk on the waterfront.
It's part of the celebration of World Space Week.
Hundreds of people turned out for the event that allowed you to learn a little about every planet that makes up the solar system and have a little fun along the way.
"We are always just looking for fun ways do you incorporate science to peoples lives" said Coordinator Jennifer Therrien, "Kids are really excited about planets. They always know planet facts and I just need that they gravitate so much toward that and then we can build off of that."
The center is also in the midst of their Spud Drive. They sell bags 50 pound bags of potatoes for 25 dollars a piece with all proceeds going to help in their mission to inspire students to get involved in STEM.
