Senator Susan Collins Co-Authors Bill to Establish National Commission of Health Care for Diabetes

Maine, (AP) A bill co-authored by Senator Susan Collins to establish a National Commission of Health Care experts on diabetes care and prevention is now headed to President Trump's Desk.

The legislation would bring together public and private sector experts, clinical endocrinologists, and others involved in diabetes research and treatment, to focus on improving education, care deliver, and patient outcomes.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, nearly 26 million Americans have diabetes and another 79 million have pre-diabetes.
