MOUNT DESERT ISLAND, Maine (WABI) - Senator Angus King has introduced legislation to help address the concerns of communities near Acadia National Park.
Many are concerned about boundary issues and the use of inter-tidal zones by clam and worm harvesters.
"We're hoping that it's in final form, submitted the bill this week, and now we are going to try and grind it through the congressional process. i'm optimistic though because i think, i think, we have consensus," said Senator Angus King.
The National Park Service has come to an agreement to let these traditional harvests continue, but king says this law would ensure the harvest can continue uninhibited into the future.
