Sen. King Releases Statement Of House Intelligence Committee Memo

WASHINGTON D.C. (WABI) - U.S. Senator Angus King a member of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, Friday released the following statement in response to the release of a memo from the U.S. House of Representatives Intelligence Committee:

“Through decades in business, public service, and law, I’ve learned over and over again that there are at least two sides to every story, which must be closely considered in uncovering the facts. This memo tells only one side of the story – and a limited version at that. It is nearly impossible to make a judgment based on a document so clearly partisan, and one that attempts to boil down the extensive information required for FISA applications and renewals into just over three pages.

“What is clear, however, is that this is an obvious attempt to discredit the work of the men and women at the FBI, whose association reminded us just today that they will continue to do their work to protect America regardless of distractions and partisan politics. I will take my cue from these devoted public servants, and focus my efforts on the bipartisan investigation taking place in the Senate Intelligence Committee.”
