SPCA Pet of The Week

By  |

BANGOR, Maine (WABI) Kathy Solley from the Hancock County SPCA was in studio on Friday with some more kittens.

The shelter has had so many pregnant cats come in this year.
Spaying and neutering is one of the most important things you can do for your pets.

So many pets are euthanized every year because people either don't care or have no funds to get them fixed.

Animals lucky enough to come to our shelter are in heaven because we are no-kill but not all shelters have that luxury.

Contact your local shelter to see if there are options to help with funds.

Ticks are really bad this year so please be diligent on checking for them. Lint rollers are wonderful tool. Roll it over their fur, you'll be surprised!

Remember pets, like children, are a life time commitment, when adopting please listen to the adoption counselors. They know the animals and will give you the information you'll need to make it work. There is nothing worst for an animal to keep being returned because the adopter doesn't hear what we are saying.

If you would like information or to adopt any of the kittens at the shelter you can call them at 667-8088 or go to the website at spcahancockcounty.org
