UPDATED: Police provide description of Orono bank robbery suspect

ORONO, Maine (WABI) There is a heavy police presence on Park Street in Orono.

Bangor Savings Bank posted about the robbery.

Orono Police say the robbery occurred around noon.

The suspect is said to be tall, skinny, wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and red and black framed glasses. They say he was also wearing socks on his hands.

Police say the suspect handed a teller a note with instructions to hand over an undisclosed amount of money.

They say it’s possible this robbery could be linked to the robbery at the County Road Store in Milford on Sunday.

The University of Maine has issued this alert:

"Bangor Savings Bank at 110 Park St., Orono on the edge of campus was robbed at 12:20 p.m. today. Suspect, who implied he had a gun, described as a thin, 6-ft. male wearing glasses with red frames, gray hooded sweatshirt, black mask. Last seen on foot. If see, call 911."
