LINCOLN, Maine (WABI) - 10 people lost their jobs at Penobscot Valley Hospital in Lincoln.
Hospital officials say they are the victim of changing patient care that is plaguing so many rural hospitals right now.
Additionally, 7 open positions at the hospital are not being filled.
Since 2014, PVH has reduced its full time staff by almost 25%, according to hospital officials.
They've also cut down on the availability of MRI and ultrasound services.
Looking ahead, the PVH Board is considering the possibility of a partnership or acquisition to a larger hospital.
