ORRINGTON, Maine (WABI) All Hallows Eve is just around the corner.
If you haven't gotten your costume yet, don't fret.
Orrington is home to a unique place to fulfill all your costume needs.
Linda Mitchell-Storer, owner of Vintage Finery Fashion Costumes & Bridal says, "I started collecting when I was a teenager. I was really drawn to antique and vintage fashion and unique clothing. So I've been a collector for, goodness, 45 years."
The shop is full of costumes from every era.
Mitchell-Storer says, "I used to go to auctions and flea markets and antique shows. But even when I would travel, I would think of my customers and I just wanted to have the most unique store in Maine."
She has a knack for knowing just what sort of costume fits each person.
Mitchell-Storer says, "People come in and it's sort of overwhelming because there's so much to look at, but I sort of take over because I'm really good at looking at people and fitting them. I just kind of pull things."
She rents out all her costumes and has recently started selling them as well.
She says, "I've actually helped out thousands of people over the years. For their wedding, for their prom, for their Halloween party, murder mystery, theater, just everything you can think of. From jeans to black tie."
And for all those brides out there, she also has an impressive collection of over 400 bridal gowns from every decade.
Mitchell-Storer says, "I really like to make their dreams come true. I love the way they light up when I find the perfect everything for them. Then they come back and tell me how much fun they had and it just makes me feel good that I'm helping them in a way that's so important to them."
She says she also has a very extensive collection of antique fashion from the early 1700's to late 1800's and her dream would be to open a museum showcasing 100 years of changing fashion.
