One person dies in Livermore Falls fire, two boys escape with help from police officer

LIVERMORE FALLS, Maine (WABI) A police officer is being called a true hero today after helping two boys to safety from a fire in Livermore Falls last night.

One person died in that fire.

The officer arrived at the scene before fire crews and found flames raging from the building.

Two boys, ages 11 and 14, were on the third floor and managed to get to a second floor roof where they jumped from into the arms of the officer.

The third floor where the boys were is now rubble.

Investigators are working today to determine how the fire started and the identity of the person who died.
