Northport Man to Prison for Two Home Repair Fraud Cases

NORTHPORT, Maine (WABI) - A Northport man is going to prison for taking more than $4,000 from two people to fix their roofs, then skipping out on the jobs.

47-year-old Stephen Boyle pleaded guilty this week to home repair fraud and theft.

He was sentenced to 15 months in prison and ordered to pay $4,300 in restitution.

Last April a homeowner in Belfast signed a contract with Boyle for $6,300 for a roof repair.

Boyle got half the money but never did any of the work.

Police also learned Boyle did the same thing to another person in 2015 by taking a $1,000 down payment and stealing shingles from the job site.
