Naples man identified as Bridgton drowning victim

BRIDGTON, Maine (WABI) A Naples man drowned last night while swimming in Long Lake in Bridgton.

Police say 42 year old Stephen Bricault was swimming in an area off Plummers Landing when he went underwater and did not resurface.

It happened around 7 o'clock. They say Bricault was swimming to shore from a sandbar.

Rescue crews found his body after about 10 minutes of searching. The water in the area is about 20 feet deep, officials said.

The Medical Examiner's Office will determine how Bricault died.
