NAMI Bangor Offering Classes for Family Members of People Living with Mental Illness

BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - NAMI Bangor is holding a 12-week education for family members of people living with mental illness.

NAMI is offering classes in Bangor and Blue Hill. The Bangor class begins March 12th and Blue Hill on April 5th.

The classes are free of charge and last 2.5 hours. They are taught by trained family members of people living with mental illness.

Anyone interested in attending will get information on strategies related to caregiving.

Topics include: handling crisis & relapse, suicide prevention, basic medication information, communication techniques and more.
