Mexico Man Arrested for Threatening New Sheriff

Maine (WABI)- A Mexico man has been arrested for threatening the life of incoming Oxford County Sheriff James Theriault.

State Police say 56-year old Joseph Salatka called the State Fire Marshall’s office to make the threat.

Police say he in possession of an air pistol when he was arrested walking a short distance from his home.

Sheriff Theriault was appointed by governor LePage earlier this week to replace Wayne Gallant.

Salatka was taken to the Oxford County Jail.
