BANGOR, Maine (WABI) - Mainers gathered in Bangor Friday to share their concerns on the Brett Kavanaugh nomination to the Supreme Court.

They also shared personal stories about why the Affordable Care Act has been so crucial to them.

They say they're concerned about the future of health care, and are worried about those who are protecting it.

The group is also calling on Senator Susan Collins to oppose Kavanaugh.

"There are several constituents working very hard to contact Susan Collins right now, saying, you really shouldn't vote this guy in if you truly believe in healthcare and if you truly believe in women's reproductive health and access to that reproductive health. So, Senator Collins show us you actually believe in these things and vote him down," said Kristen Nilsen of Scarborough.

Collins told TV5 news she's is in the process of reviewing Kavanaugh's record.

Confirmation hearings for Kavanaugh are set to begin September 4th.
